Make known the mystery!

It fascinates me how God works.

Two of the young people that were in the youth group while I was Youth Minister, emailed me in the last two weeks. The first asked for advice and to pray for him as he shared his faith with a friend. The second asked me to pray for a friend who was having a crisis of faith. These situations are profound in their meaning to these young people and I am humbled that they would come to me seeking prayer and guidance.

I confess that I, at times, complained about the lack of visible fruit during that 6 year ministry. Now, I am reminded of the Scripture:

“being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.” Philippians 1:6.

God will bring fruit in His time. The fruit is not in the fact that they have turned to me, the fruit is the fact that they are turning to God! They are looking at life from an eternal perspective. It is important to them to see those they care about find salvation and comfort in their heavenly Father.

My prayer for both of them, and for my children (and you also) is:

I pray that you would fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel of Christ Jesus. Ephesians 6:19.

Hey aunt beth! I just found the link to your blog from my father-in-law's. I love blogs. I just think it is neat to get to read some of the things in a person's heart--especially when you are so far away and might never get to hear about those things in person. Anyway, take care!!
