Self-Control

It sure was a busy day yesterday! Work all day - VBS all evening! Rewarding, but I am so weary! My mind is writing checks that my body cannot cash!!! I was overwhelmed with an urgency to pray before and during Bible school yesterday! I hit my knees as I was reading over my part of the opening session. God prompted me to steal the director away for a minute and pray for her. After the opening session, I once again felt an urgency to pray. I did a prayer walk around the sanctuary, touching each pew and praying for the leaders and children who would sit there this week. Pray with me for the lives of these precious children who are in our care this week. My prayer is that we will not be content to let any child leave our Bible School without hearing the gospel message.

My pray calendar reminds me to pray in the area of self control today! Father, help my family and me not to be like many others, but to be alert and self-controlled in all we do! I Thess. 5:6

Ouch! Do you ever struggle in the area of self-control, I sure do! My two older boys have begun an exercise regime that begins while I am getting ready for work in the morning. They work out a little and then go for a run. Later in the evening, they work out again. You go, guys! They are an inspiration to me......maybe one day I will do the same! :-)

As my boys move forward with their routine, I pray they will have the self-control and discipline they need to follow through. I pray that those seeds would take route in all of us and allow us all to do our part in our family and in God's family.
