Oops!

I have edited my settings to allow people to post comments! Thanks to my big brother for alerting me to the problem. I am new to the blogging scene, so I appreciate your patience!

My prayer calendar guides me to pray for my children each day - today's characteristic is faithfulness. "Let faithfulness never leave my children, but bind this virtue around their necks!" based on Proverbs 3:3. As I prayed this prayer, I realized (again) the need to be more deliberate about the study of God's word both personally and as a family. Proverbs 3:3 actually reads, "Let love and faithfulness never leave you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart." Sounds as if faithfulness requires effort, doesn't it?! The words "bind" and "write" are both action words. We need to be deliberate about faithfulness. I won't preach, but this is a message I need to hear. I believe I have taken faithfulness for granted at times in my life. I had let my faithfulness become about keeping my word, fulfilling my obligations, more a "to do" list than anything else. I had gotten to the point where it was about going through the motions. It wasn't about writing love and faithfulness on the tablet of my heart anymore. My effort now is focused on making faithfulness to my heavenly father the priority it needs to be in my life. I know that as I do this, the other areas of my life will benefit. Growing with you.....
