I enter this weekend already tired. My energy level has been low, and until I begin my exercise routine again, that probably won't change. The two are tied together. Exercise (even if it takes effort and discipline), in the end, actually increases your energy level. As your energy level increases so does your motivation to exercise again. Lack of exercise leads to low energy levels.
Does that remind you of anything? Exercising your spiritual tools (prayer, bible study, fellowship) gives us more spiritual energy. More spiritual energy leads us to have the motivation to serve our Lord more faithfully. The two are tied together.
Perseverance -
we need it when we exercise, and we need it in our walk with the Lord.
Listen, with me, to God's word:
...let us draw near to God with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water. Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful. And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds. Let us not give up meeting together as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another - and the more as you see the Day approaching! - Hebrews 10:21-25 (NIV)
I am so grateful for the people that God put in my life to "spur me on" in the last couple of years. I love you all!
