A Servant's Heart

A neighbor stopped by yesterday morning with her dog, Gracie (Michael walks Gracie in the afternoon). We look forward to Gracie stopping by, as she is generous with her kisses! She has adopted our family, and enjoys stopping at our house on her walks. Kelly launched into a story about how wonderful my son, Michael, is! She was mowing her back yard and it was starting to rain. She tried to squeeze her mower through a small space and got it stuck. She just about pinned herself in the process. Michael heard her message on our answering maching that she needed help (he couldn't really understand her, but he heard that she might have been pinned). He immediately went down the street and helped Kelly get her mower free, and get it put away. Kelly was so delighted at his helpful attitude, and his sense of urgency to help her. I was smiling from ear to ear. It is always nice to hear a compliment about your child.

Last night, Michael said that he was willing to do the laundry for me any time! I had walked him through the process several times, and he said he'd like to give me a hand doing it! It was hard to wipe the smile off of my face, again. He put action to his words when he immediately began to do a load, and told me to sit down. He had to ask a few times if certain items could be washed with the others (he was being careful)! I told him that I would try not to put anything in the hamper that he couldn't put in the regular washing.

It was interesting to look at my prayer calendar this morning and see that today's prayer for the boys was, "God, help my children develop servants' hearts, that they may serve wholeheartedly." Ephesians 6:7 What a blessing it was to see that prayer answered in Michael, before I even prayed it this month! I have been using this prayer calendar for a while, and I am so happy to see God working in their lives.

Thank you to the many that are still praying for the Melton Family! We need it, and appreciate it more than you can imagine!
