Hello!

It's been almost a month! For those of you who are still praying for us - thank you! It has been a good month. Matt & David had a good week at camp, we all had a good family vacation at Myrtle Beach (I hope to post the video of J.R. & David riding the sling shot), a good Independence Day celebration, and in general it's been peaceful and happy!

We had a nice (though short) visit with my folks as they were travelling to New England. Soon after they left came the sad news that my Aunt Gloria had died. I am so happy that Dad got to see her (his sister) before she died. Please pray for my cousin Frank - he has lost his entire immediate family now. I cannot imagine what that is like. In recent days we have received word that mom and dad are now expecting two more great-grandchildren! Erin and Ava will soon have company! Cousins are a good thing!

Matthew has recovered from his first fender bender - he rear-ended a car on his way home from work. It is likely that another of our cars will be totalled. We just haven't had a chance to get it to the shop to have it looked over. The man Matt hit is complaining of back pain and they say he has a herniated disc. Please pray for him.

Last Thursday I had the pleasure of going on a retreat with the Principal's and Assistant Principal's that I work with (a great group of people). This is not the boat I was in, but it gives you an idea of what the US National Whitewater Center in Charlotte, NC is like. It was a great time of team building. I had not been feeling well since Wednesday and was concerned that I might miss the retreat. Over the weekend and early part of this week the pain has been worse - it appears I may have a kidney stone! I have other symptoms, but the most obvious answer seems to be the stone. I have been able to work, but when the pain comes, it is difficult. As many of you are well aware! :-)
We are really excited that David & Marianne (my nephew and his wife) will be spending the week at our house next week. They will be speaking at our church on Sunday night about their Mission Work in East Asia. I know they will be busy, but it will be nice to have family around.
No real profound thoughts or spiritual musings this time! I miss you my friends and family! Love, Bethany

So glad to see you back on the blog. I'm glad you are having a good summer. Our trip to Alaska was amazing. We are headed to NC Sunday afternoon to spend time in the mountains with Mom.
