It's raining - again!

Coming out of a drought can be rough! At least I pray our area is coming out of our 5 year drought! On a trip to Lincolnton recently we passed the Coddle Creek Resevoir. It was higher than we have seen it in years! There was even water flowing over the "dam". It has been a constant rain since this morning, and I can hear a steady sound of rain on the roof. Of course, while I type this sentence the rain has stopped.

Since we have been receiving regular doses of rain, it becomes more and more difficult to remember what it was like when there was no rain. As I look back over my personal drought of the last few years, I find the same is also true. As my life becomes refreshed by a steady supply of my relationship with the Lord, it becomes harder and harder to remember when that wasn't the case. I don't want to forget everything about that time. I want it to be a motivator and a reminder of what happens when we neglect our relationship with the Lord and those we love (even neglecting ourselves).

Thank you, Lord, for the showers of blessings you have sent my way!

My prayer for my friends and family today is, "Father God, help us to make every effort to do what leads to peace." Romans 14:19.

God bless!

Michael W. Smith has a great song with simple words..."Let it rain, Let it rain...Open the floodgates of Heaven and Let it Rain...Let it rain..." It just says that over and over again...we all need the floodgates of Heaven to rain down on us, but we especially appreciate that rain after a long time in the desert. Enjoy the rain!
